Thirty three dead in US University shootings, Blacksberg, Virginia

A gunman has killed 33 people including himself, at the Virginia Tech university, near Washington, in the worst campus shooting in US history.

There were two incidents two hours apart, at a student dorm where two were killed, and at an engineering building where 30 and the gunman died.

Officers said they were working to link the attacks and had not yet identified the gunman. Fifteen people were hurt.

After the deadliest shooting at a US school, President George W Bush said the US was "shocked and saddened".

I've just got the news about blogger in beta (-: and after over a year with almost no new blogger changes, it looks like it has exactly the kind of things I have been waiting for.

Talking to me by voice chat or phone (-:

Hi everyone, did you know I have been able to call friends since january, calling to their phones with my skype phone?

Until now I have only called four people like that (Eliana, Amie, Stacy, and Jacqueline). The phone wasn't loud enough with Stacy so we had to give up a couple of months ago.

But Stacy and I tried skype last night (calling computer to computer) and it was perfect, both loud enough and clear. (-: We talked for around 7 hours. (-: We had tried msn chat just before (it was my first time) but I was sure it wouldn't work, because my headset microphone has never seemed to work. But actually she could hear me, so the microphone did work. But I couldn't hear her because it was distorted and slow like a machine. The problem is the quality is not as good with msn voice chat. But we have skype now so it is perfect.

Then thinking msn wouldn't work for me, I was telling Sandra about it today. And guess what!!! (-: We tried msn voice chat, and it works. It was a bit echo-ey and it wasn't quite as good quality as skype, but we heard eachother for the first time, and I was really happy. All my international friends have beautiful voices. (-: She doesn't have skype yet.

I had told Gissell about it yesterday too. But she is too embarrassed to have voice chat in an internet cafe. (I think would be too) but maybe she can use it with Sandra at her house sometimes (-:

So now I would really like to be able to hear the voices of the friends who i care about very much. Especially those who know they are close in my heart (-: So whether it is skype, msn, or calling to a phone, contact me and we will hear our voices together for the first time xxx, and (I hope) often (-:

It is a good year, no worries anymore

Dear Dani, I want you to know that talking to you made me feel a lot better, I feel relieved of my problems. (-: I realised the bad year I told you about was almost a year ago. I had been living as if those things were yesterday, ever since. But now it is 2006 and a new year. Jacqueline started things new for me again, and ended the bad year at last. I had forgotten to wake up to that until now. I realise that actually, nothing directly bad has happened to me this year, and apart from a lack of purpose, it is a good one. Some friendships came closer, one special one I thought had been lost, came back recently, and seems like it is going to last. Jess and Sandra, I still feel the same even though we couldn't talk (-: Jacqueline stayed in touch (-: and I made some new friends, one from a very different culture who I like a lot. Failed relationships are out of my hands, so no point feeling bad anymore. And I have the job, at least for now (-: so I guess I have no worries except time, the years passing by. I want to keep going forward though, I don't ever want to be satisfied and to stop trying.
